A vote by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission to award a casino license to Wynn Resorts will bring an end to horse racing at Suffolk Downs. Track official had hoped the Gaming Commission would grant a Casino license to property owned by Suffolk Downs, which pledged to continue horse racing for 15 years if that occurred. The vote against the Casino License on Suffolk Downs’ property will bring an end to 79 years of racing.
