Residents of Seabrook, South Carolina were shocked to find a skinny horse tied by it’s head to a tree, dead and dumped alongside the road. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s department was called to the scene, and the responding deputy found the horse had been killed by a single gunshot to the head. The deputy believes the horse was shot at another location, probably after being loaded into the trailer, and was tied to the tree and drug out. A veterinarian with the Lowcountry Large Animal Veterinary Services examined the horse, and determined the horse was a 12-13 year old mare.
Markus Nesbitt, who lives just down the road from where the horse was found, is in disbelief that anyone could do that to their horse. “There’s plenty of other ways to do things other than resorting violence on animals, I’m an animal lover myself, so it was just heart hurting to see that.” Anyone with information about the grey mare is asked to contact the Beaufort County Sheriff’s department.Dale Williams <-- Become my friend on Facebook! - Phone: 724-964-6773
