For the last four years, a pony named Boyd has been in rehab at the Blue Cross Animal Shelter. Boyd, an unhandled pony, was rescued from a horrible situation in South Wales at a cement yard, starving, neglected, fighting for mere scraps of food. His muscles were practically gone and he was suffering from lice. His emaciation was a very serious cause for concern, and he barely pulled through.
Four years later, Boyd is recovered, trained, and trusts humans. Jane Wright contacted Blue Cross Animal Shelter and was approved to adopt Boyd. He went to his adoptive home just in time for Christmas, giving this pony that was unloved, uncared for, and without hope, the best gift of all: a loving home.
