Therapy Horse Missing, Possibly Stolen

Buddy

Update: Buddy has been found safe in a field about a mile from the Carroll family’s residence.

In a Jasper County, Iowa, Buddy has been missing since Friday night and his family is desperate to get him back.  Buddy’s family cares for foster children, and Buddy is a big part of helping the kids feel at home.  “The kids that come into our home with special needs have no control over their lives and things are so crazy. So to be able to have an animal they can have a trust with and some control over and bond with is so good for them, and Buddy was perfect for that,” Denise Carroll told reporters.

Buddy was donated to the Carroll family to help with their foster children, and they simply cannot afford to replace him.  A trained therapy horse can cost upwards of $6,000, and due to his value, Carroll is afraid that someone has stolen him.  Anyone with information about Buddy is requested to contact the Jasper County Sheriff Department.
