2 Horses Die in First 4 Races

Baltimore, Maryland – During the Preakness races on Saturday at the Pimlico Race Track, 2 horses died in the first 4 races.

9-year-old  Homeboykris (#3 in photo below,) who was an entrant in the 2010 Kentucky Derby, won the first race of the day.  After exiting the winners circle, Homeboykris apparently suffered a heart attack walking to the stable, collapsed and died.

4-year-old Pramedya, racing for just the 5th time, shattered her front left canon bone and was euthanized on the track.  Pramedya was owned  by Barbaro’s owner.  Her jockey was taken to the hospital with a broken collarbone.
