New York City – Bogdan Angheluta was horrified when he witnessed a carriage horse pushed until it collapsed outside a nightclub. Angheluta had just left the club when he heard a carriage driver screaming at his horse to hurry up and make the green light. The horse, obviously exhausted, collapsed. “I’m 100 percent positive,” Angheluta told The Post. “He was forcing him to make the light. The horse was tired.”
A police SUV blocked traffic while the driver worked to get his horse back on its feet. The officer held the horse’s head and kept it calm. Some workers from a horse stable brought buckets with water and grain. The carriage driver warned Angheluta to leave them alone, but he continued photographing the event.
Over 20 minutes passed before the carriage driver could get his horse back up. Once standing, the officer told Angheluta the horse was fine. Angheluta sent his photos to authorities and an investigation was launched.
“He didn’t collapse, he tripped himself,” said Christina Hansen, a spokeswoman for the carriage industry. “He’s kind of a klutz.” City Health Department also investigated the incident, and concluded the horse had tripped and fallen.Author: Dale Williams <-- Become my friend on Facebook! - Phone: 724-964-6773
