Franklin County, Alabama – 4 horses, a mule and a Labrador Retriever were gunned down in rural Alabama.  Owner Lisa Jordan talked to reporters, telling how she got a phone call that changed her life.  The caller said her horses laying dead, along with her mule and dog, in a field near her house.  When she opened her door, she found one of her prized horses laying dead on her front steps.  When she rolled it over, she found gunshot wounds in its stomach.

The horses in the field were tied up using halters and lead ropes that did not belong to Jordan.  “So many shots fired, it pretty much was a massacre,” the Franklin County Sheriff told reporters.  “This was no accident, this was someone using our animals for target practice,” Jordan told reporters.

One horse was shot 3 times but survived the shooting.  Jordan is hoping to nurse it back to health.  The Jordan family has put up a reward for information leading to those responsible for such a horrific crime.
