Owner Badly Burned Saving Horses From Barn Fire

St Michael, Minn – The owner of Grace Farms has was severely injured with over 30% of his body badly burned when a fire engulfed a barn Monday.  Chris Leatherdale was the kind of guy that would risk his life to save horses, long time boarders told reporters.

The fire was likely caused by kids playing with matches.  Jill Avery has boarded horses at Grace Farms for 3 years and told reporters  “They did have some issues with children of theirs, that we were all concerned of.”  The fired destroyed the main barn and arena.

Chris was able to save 3 horses from the raging flames, but sadly 3 horses perished in the flames.  Two of the horses that died were owned by the Leatherdale’s.  The horses that were saved from the fire spent the night in a nearby pasture.
