Willmar, Minnesota – Some of the 15 passengers and the driver were taken to the hospital after a Christmas carriage crashed.  The wagon, pulled by two horses, was part of a Christmas parade and was hauling people to have their picture taken with Santa.  Passengers and witness’ say something spooked the horses and they went out of control.  The horses galloped out of control about 3/4 of a mile before turning into a driveway and colliding with a basketball pole.  The collision knocked the driver out of his seat and into the back of the wagon.

The horses continued their wild run, dragging the basketball pole and the wagon full of people, for another 1/4 mile before a car was able to slow and stop the horses.  When law enforcement arrived, the wagon driver was unconscious and had no pulse.  Officers performed cpr on the driver, and he was taken to a local hospital where he is in critical condition.
