Mesa, Arizona – The Maricopa County Sheriff is searching for the person(s) responsible for shooting 3 mustang foals in the Salt River band, leaving one dead and the other two missing. The foal, 7-10 month old Kai, was shot with a shotgun, authorities believe. The suspect mutilated Kai, removing his genitals in a particularly grisly crime. Witness’ describe the shooter as a male wearing a dark green shirt and black shorts. Two other people were seen with the shooter. When the reports of the shooting came in, the sheriff department launched a helicopter and sent deputies on the ground to try and find the shooter, but were unsuccessful.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio is taking the search for the killers personally. “This is a crime that goes beyond animal cruelty. Killing an innocent horse is as dangerous as it is disturbing. What else is this person capable of doing? We need to end this senseless slaughter of wild horses.” He has authorized the mounted posse to search the area for clues, and to hopefully find the other two foals that witness’ say were shot.Author: Dale Williams <-- Become my friend on Facebook! - Phone: 724-964-6773
