Tourists in Carriage Injured After Horses Spooked

Out of control horse drawn carriage

Vancouver, British Columbia – A carriage full of tourists from around the world was taken for a wild ride when the horses were spooked by a car horn.  One family decided to jump after a shattered park bench nearly hit the dad in the face.   “We were a bit concerned [the horses] were going to go into the water.  They knocked over one of the poles and then took out one of the park benches. One of the pieces of timber came up into my face, missed my face luckily, that’s when we decided to make a jump for it,” Greg Arnold from Australia told reporters.  Arnold, his wife and two children can be seen jumping from the moving carriage.  Injuries included sprained ankles and abrasions, but nothing serious despite the scare.

The owner of the carriage company, Jerry O’Neil, said this is the first time something like this has happened in 37 years.
