1 Eyed Horse Eyeing a Triple Crown

Louisville, KY – Patch, a 1 eyed Thoroughbred, is heading to the Kentucky Derby.  Patch’s left eye was removed last June due to inflammation in the globe.  His partial blindness is not expected to hinder his performance.  Winning the Derby this Saturday is the first step to being the first every partially blind horse to win the Triple Crown.

Patch’s trainer Todd Pletcher has nothing but good to say about him.  “I anticipated Patch would be pretty popular you know, it’s an intriguing story having lost his eye as a two-year-old. He’s a very cool horse to be around. Very laid back, very professional, very straightforward.”
