Battle Ground, Washington – More than 100 animals of all varieties, including horses, ponies and donkeys, are needing homes after the NW Love All Animal Rescue founder, Tracy Nichols, was foreclosed on. The animals all lived on Nichols’ 10 acre property, and when she was evicted from her home, the animals lost their home too.
The horses at the rescue appear to be in reasonably good condition. One elderly horse which appears thin, a swayback mare, is described as “just swayback, and she’s an old lady.”
The total number of horses, donkeys and ponies needing homes is not immediately known. The NW Love All Animal Rescue Facebook page is filled with people offering homes, but no response from Nichols.
The nonprofit has been in operation since 2011, but the latest 990 filing, 2015, shows total donations as only $2,867. With over 100 animals to care for, the rescue was undoubtedly funded entirely by Nichols. She recently suffered an injury at work, and then a car accident, which left her unable to work.
