Bedford, Kentucky – Sheriff officers serving a parole and probation case found dead horses on a rural property in Bedford. A search warrant was issued to the Sheriff Department and Trimble County Animal Control. What they found in the search shocked even veteran officers. “Justice is the biggest thing we’re looking for. After seeing what we saw on the property, I’m still dumbfounded about it,” Russell Spaulding of Trimble County Animal Control told reporters.
A total of 19 dead horses were found on the property, along with dead rabbits and goats. Several dead horses were visible from the main road in front of the property. Marlena Robinson, age 33, was arrested and charged with 38 counts of animal cruelty. She is facing either Class D felony or Class A misdemeanor charges, depending on how the District Attorney charges her.
14 horse were still alive when Animal Control raided the property. All the surviving horses were removed and taken to Windy Meadows Equestrian Centers.
