Omaha, Nebraska – A young colt escaped from his home and led police and Nebraska Humane Society on an hour long chase through the city.  Officials became particularly worried when the colt got onto I80, but he quickly took an exit back into a residential neighborhood.

While trying to put a halter on the skittish horse, a Humane Officer was struck in the face.  She was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The colt’s owner was contacted, and came to help arrest the unruly youngster.  The owner was unsuccessful in capturing their horse.  The Omaha Police Department mounted patrol brought one of their horses to the scene to calm down the colt, and an officer was able to capture the baby.

The owner surrendered the colt to Nebraska Humane Society.
