Roy, Utah – The Larsen family is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for executing their beloved horse, Cinnamon.  Gail Larsen, 78, bought Cinnamon 13 years ago for his 7 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren to ride.  The gentle mare was loved by all, but 4-year-old Lydia loved her the most.  The child would ride Cinnamon 4 times a week typically.

Last Friday, Lydia had her final ride on Cinnamon.  Saturday morning, Larsen found Cinnamon dead, with two gunshot wounds to the forehead.  Lydia has been crying ever since hearing the news.  “That was the hardest part was telling her because we had just been down here Friday,” said Larsen. “She loved that horse. She thought that horse was hers. She’d tell you it’s hers.”

Police are investigating the shooting, and neighbors are very concerned.  The killing happened in a neighborhood next to a school.  Larsen wonders who is next. “Who’s next? Me or the children going to school?” Larsen asked reporters.
