Waco, TX – The bareback competition was interrupted Friday night by the death of a bareback bucking horse at the Ram Texas Circuit Finals Rodeo. The rodeo was held over the weekend at the Extraco Events Center in Waco.

The unidentified horse began showing signs of distress, and the rodeo veterinarian rushed to render aid. The horse collapsed and died. Wes Allison, president and CEO of the Extraco Events Center, talked to reporters about the horse. “There was no delay in the horse being evaluated and treated. We regret this happened and implemented the emergency procedures in place to handle this situation.”
Dr Clark, the rodeo veterinarian, told reporters “The horse appeared to have suffered acute aneurysm and was unable to be resuscitated.”
