Leesville, Louisiana – 2 horses were found in such horrible condition that social media exploded with their images. The two horses, unknown age or gender, were seen with chains around their necks growing into their flesh.
One of the horses was tied to a tire, presumably to act as a hobble. The chain was growing into the horse’s neck, causing open, festering wounds. The other horse was chained to a jack, also presumably as a hobble, and its neck was an open wound around the embedded chain.
The Vernon Parish Sheriff Department responded to calls of complaint about the horses by saying there was nothing they could do for 30 days. Kyle Perry would not accept the Sheriff’s refusal for immediate action, and reached out on social media.
After the Sheriff was bombarded with calls and messages, they arrested the owner of the horses and posted the following message on their Facebook page.
Sheriff Craft would like to advise concerned citizens that the posts on social media regarding the abused horses has been addressed by VPSO.
The owner, Issac Grant, has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals.
VPSO Deputies have removed the horses from the location and their needs are being taken care of.
No further information is available at this time on the condition of the horses.
