Washington, D.C. – Newly confirmed interior secretary, Ryan Zinke, made waves when he showed up to work on the back of a horse.  The horse, a 17 hand bay roan named Tonto, appeared calm and collected during the ride.

The ride lasted less than a mile from the Park Service stables to the Department of the Interior building.  Zinke is a native of Montana, a former Navy Seal, and an avid outdoorsman.  He has pledged to protect the public lands for all to enjoy.  “I shall faithfully uphold Teddy Roosevelt’s belief that our treasured public lands are ‘for the benefit and enjoyment of the people’ and will work tirelessly to ensure our public lands are managed and preserved in a way that benefits all Americans for generations to come,” Zinke said during his swearing in ceremony.
