Wallonia, Kentucky – When Margaret Rogers rescued a beautiful liver chestnut from a kill pen, she didn’t know exactly what to expect. When she disappeared, her worst fear was that she had been stolen and would ship to slaughter.
Rogers posted a plea on Facebook asking for information and the safe return of the filly. She offered a reward to anyone who would help find her horse.
A few hours later Rogers and some friends were riding her pasture, looking for any signs of the missing horse, when they heard a faint whinny. The filly was found in the bottom of a hole, seemingly too small for a horse to fit inside of. They assume the filly slid rear-first into the hole.
A backhoe was used to dig an access ditch, and soon the filly was on top of the ground. “Thankfully she was safe and didn’t spook at all the commotion,” Rogers wrote on her Facebook post.
Roger’s stated that they hole was filled after the filly was safe.Author: Dale Williams <-- Become my friend on Facebook! - Phone: 724-964-6773
